5 ways to clear your breakouts without visiting a doctor or taking expensive drugs

April 27, 2017

Having a clear complexion is really important to a vain pot like me and I'm still working on it.

Before going to the solutions, so how is acne/pimple form?
Everyone produces natural face oil which is supposing good for your skin, but excessive sebum produced might clog your pores. Dead skin cell in your pores causes oil to clog and inflame your pores. Thus, this is why you keep hearing beauty gurus say : exfoliate your face regularly.

We've all heard the same old story to trouble skin:
Sleep-Diet-Hygiene-Hormones.

I can't deny the fact that irregular body clock/poor diet and hygeine contributes your breakouts, but you might be just surprise that what shows on your skin is an indication of your poor health.

Look at the chart below, I believe whatever that can't be detox out of your body will show on your skin. I'm prone to acne on my foreheads and now I  know why:

After 2 years of on and off breakouts, spending hundreds visiting famous practitioners ( Dr Diane Jek from Ponggol Clinic & Maple Clinic), eating tons of accutane.

( FYI, Maple clinic was pricy and didn't worked for me)

I've concluded a few things that work well for me that don't require to see doctors and spend on expensive medications

1. go on a non-dairy product diet.

After cutting down my dairy, my skin start to clear up.

Why diary ?

So I went through tons of articles and youtube videos and gathered reviews on why dairy products contributes to your acnes.

  • Milk and dairy products causes your skin to produce excess sebum and you guessed it more clog pores=more acnes.
  • There is a hormone called IGF-1(a growth hormone) in milk. It is one of the several factors that cause inflammation
So I've sacrifice CHEESE,bread, cakes. I've replaced my milk with soy and almond which works equally fine for me.

2. Cleansing.

You heard me, I cannot emphasise how important it is to cleanse your face thoroughly.
I'm obsess with Lush Angels On Bare Face. It does the job really well. Apart from its all natural ingredients, I love the smell and it acts like a mild exfoliator.

3. Toner

I've been using this toner for 2 months on my T-zone area, to be exact on areas prone to breakouts.

DR G A-Clear Toner | SaSa | $35+/-

4. Vitamin C Oil
I heard really good reviews about Klairs Oil, but didn't manage to get it during my last Korea trip.  So I decided to get it From Qo10 and give it a try. My face absorbs the oil really well, rest assured it won't leave you with oily finishing.

Lastly, health supplements.

Instead of eating accutane, I've replaced with DHC health supplements that deal with problem skin. IT WORKS FOR ME LIKE A MIRACLE. I'm not even exaggerating, it works really well for me after taking it for a month. I know the packaging looks a bit too candy-licious and dubious but DHC is an established health supplement from Japan.

DHC Cleacnea AC | Watsons | $23+/-

Apart from the daily skin care routine, take time to exfoliate your face, do a mask or facial.
